"Es muß denn das Schwert nun entscheiden. Mitten im Frieden überfällt uns der Feind. Darum auf! zu den Waffen! Jedes Schwanken, jedes Zögern wäre Verrat am Vaterlande."
English: Extract from Wilhelm's public adress "To the German people", 6 August 1914. "So now the sword must decide. In the midst of peace, the enemy attacks. So, rise up! To arms! Any dithering, any faltering would be treason to the Fatherland."
